Bespoke Summer Update

June saw the KIN London team takeover Kings’ Cross to create a hidden bespoke festival. Complete with Helter Skelter and Dodgems, everyone’s inner child came out and kept the thrill seekers going back for more.

Once people had built up an appetite there was a vast array of KERB Street Food on offer from a lineup including the famous Anna Mae’s Mac and Cheese, Only Jerkin’ and Hanoi Kitchen followed by tasty sweet treats from You Doughnut and Nonna’s Gelato. No party is a party without a full bar and of course the KERB team delivered, with craft beers and bespoke cocktails alongside the usual contenders, there was plenty of choice for everyone!

To keep the party going even longer, we swapped out the main DJ for a Silent Disco and with a range of 4 music channels to chose from, this celebration quickly went from corporate party to karaoke party.  Funny to watch but we’re still working out what some of the songs were!

The client and staff loved their bespoke Festival with 90% of staff scoring the event as excellent.

Our festival fever continued into July, where the stunning One Marylebone became the backdrop to a corporate meeting-by-day-summer-festival-by-night event. The conference was heavily focused on content with a slick AV set-up to match, delivered by the team at Velvet Living. We wanted to bring the outside in so used 30 large potted trees to create a natural feel to the space.

Food is always high on our priority list so we used One Dining knowing they would deliver on exceptional food quality and service – they didn’t disappoint! With a mix of skewers, wraps and superfood salads the lunch was light to ensure no afternoon sugar slumps!

With a summer festival theme we considered all of the small details from centerpieces to the colour of table linen to ensure the theme ramped up throughout the day. We built a frenzy and everyone was desperate to see what we had created outside – which we had kept under wraps all day to ensure a big reveal moment for the guests.

With a large ‘Main Stage’ tipi and a smaller fire pit tent, complete with soft seating, there were plenty of covered areas if we needed them. Fortunately, the day was glorious and everyone could enjoy the range of activities we booked. From glitter artists and hair braiders to fairground stalls, bucking bronchos, ice cream bikes, KERB Street food and cocktail bars – people didn’t know where to start as there was so much to choose from!

No festival is complete without amazing music, hence us booking a line up of acoustic roaming bands covering everything from 90s pop songs, classic rock, jazz and current chart hits. The bands were so interactive they even had senior members of the company rapping along to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air!

We’d kept a secret from guests and they were delighted to find out that there was a secret after party complete with DJ to keep the party going late into the night. After the party we put on we’re sure there were sore heads all round the next day – the sign of the best party!

The client said:

This was a ‘first footprint’ event for the team of 3 working on this event from our side.  Miryam had worked with others in the company previously and had been recommended.  In one word, our experience with Miryam was fantastic.

“We cannot deny that we are a challenge, with strong views of the direction we want to move in with every event and an ever changing list of ‘must haves’ and ‘wishes’ and Miryam took everything in her stride, evolving her personal style to compliment us as individuals as well as a company as a whole.  Due to this welcoming, personable approach, we also found ourselves transitioning from a client / consultant style relationship to a real friendship, which can only have a positive effect on an event like ours.

The outcome was a hugely successful event that pushed the boundaries of previous events and certainly had the wow factor.  Feedback throughout the business has been overwhelmingly positive.  Without Miryam and the KIN London team, we could not have achieved such a great result and we very much hope to work with them again in the near future”.
